Longford Town FC is delighted to announce the re-signing of Jack McCarthy for the 2025 season.
The 21-year-old will be looking to compete with Harry Halwax for the number 1 spot in Wayne Groves’ side.
Before joining De Town last season, McCarthy played with Drogheda United’s U17 team in 2019. He went on to the club’s U19 side and also made the senior match day squad before leaving in February 2021 to join Shelbourne. Jack made his league debut for Shels in a 0-0 draw with UCD at the Belfield Bowl on 6 August 2021. He then played in America for Cumberland Phoenix, picking up player of the week multiple times for the collegiate side.
