Legends Announcement

𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁! | 🔴⚫️

We are delighted to confirm our next two LTFC Legends who will be playing in the Longford Town Legends v Manchester United Legends game on June 15th at Bishopsgate.

𝗚𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝘄 signed for De Town in January 2012. He scored 16 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions in 2014 as Town won the league title and Shaw was voted on to the PFAI First Division Team of the Year by his fellow players. He was also voted Players’ Player of the Year by his teammates at Longford. A huge fan favourite, he made 120 appearances, scoring 30 and assisting 15.

𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗠𝗰𝗡𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 was one of the diamonds plucked from the rough of the non-leagues by Stephen Kenny in the summer of 1998. McNally finally had his opportunity to shine at national level and took it with both hands with Longford narrowly missing out on promotion in his first campaign. However, De Town and Paul would have their promotion party the following season as a final day win away to Cobh Ramblers secured second-place in the First Division and with-it promotion to the elite of Irish football for the very first time. In 2002 McNally scored a penalty from twelve-yards against Harps to take the relegation playoff to extra-time and again in the penalty shootout which kept De Town up. He made 71 appearances, scoring 6 times.

More Legends to be announced soon.
