I spoke with the gaffer as soon as the season was over. His energy and his enthusiasm for the upcoming season was infectious. From that very first phone call I knew I wanted to play under him and Longford football club has such a history in the league it was hard to overlook. I also spoke with some of the players I’ve played with in the past and they couldn’t speak highly enough of the set up.
With the club Centenary taking place in 2024, the Dubliner also spoke of his goals and ambition for the season ahead.
First and foremost, I want to bring with me a work rate and attitude that will bring success to the club. I don’t like to set limitations, I want to be effective. I hope to Bring goals and assists but most importantly wins and hopefully that can be a stepping stone for what will be a good season.
Straight away, the gaffer told me about the centenary year. 100 years in existence in itself is an immense achievement. It’s a huge credit to everyone involved and also a big incentive to make it a memorable year!
