Daniel Jones signs for 2022!
Longford Town FC is delighted to announce the signing of Daniel Jones for the 2022 SSE Airtricity League First Division.
Daniel, who was most recently at Bray Wanderers under Gary Cronin, joins De Town brining a wealth of experience from playing for the likes of Wolves, Northampton Town, Oldham Athletic, Notts County, Bristol Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday, and Port Vale, who he helped secure promotion out of League Two with in 2012-13.
The 6 ft 2 defender spoke to LTFC.ie about signing for De Town and what he hopes to achieve in 2022;
It was a no-brainer to sign for a great club like Longford and to sign for Gary again. I like the brand of football, I like the way he wants us to play, what he stands for…you know, his coaching team that he’s bringing with him, what he asks for in terms of players and their attitude and professionalism, I buy into it all, that was massive for me.
Looking to the new season, the experienced pro set the bar high in what he expects for the new year;
We want to be successful and we want to win and push for promotion. After speaking to Gary, and about the players he wants to bring in, I can’t see why it can’t be a successful season. You need that experience and that blend of youth so I’m really looking forward to the challenge and passing on my experience and knowledge from what I know.
