Noel Nolan, Legan, was a legendary Longford Town supporter. No game was too far away for the genial Noel whose knowledge and love of the game was second to none. Even when confined to bed, his room was adorned with images of the game and team he loved so well.

Today, in brilliant sunshine the Noel Nolan Charity Cup Final took place between Carraig Celtic and Legan Sarsfields with Mostrim and Sunbursts battling it out for the Shield. In the underage games Ardagh edged out Legan on penalties while Mostrim defeated Ballymahon, also on penalties.

Fair play to the hard working organisers who produced a full colour match programme with 9 ads. They were also raising funds for the Make a Wish charity.
