Longford Town FC is delighted to announce that Matthew O'Brien and Callum Warfield have re-signed for the club ahead of the 2021 season.
Talented 17 year old O'Brien highly impressed in his appearances for De Town in 2020 adding a goal against Cabinteely in Stradbrook to his great performances throughout the season.
The towering presence of Callum Warfield was something the club relied on heavily in the playoffs and was seen to great effect when the young man took the ball down on his chest against UCD and laid it off to Dean Byrne to grab the winner in the 121st minute of the playoff semi-final.
Speaking to LTFC.ie, Manager Daire Doyle had high praise for the two young men;
It's great to get the two lads back for 2021. Matthew is someone that has great potential at such a young age and he's showed he can cut it at this level with his performances throughout the year. Callum is a huge presence to have for the team. He causes every team problems with his physicality and played an important role in our push for promotion this year. I'm delighted they've signed on for the new season.
