Interview by Kevin Carberry
Longford Town FC are pleased to announce the signing of midfielder Kealan Dillon, formerly of Bohemians. Kealan (21) hails from Clonmellon in County Westmeath.
Speaking to Longford Town Supporters club, Kealan is delighted to have signed for the club.
"Im glad to be here and excited for the start of the new season. We're starting to get a good squad together on top of the players who were already here last year and achieved so much in their first season after promotion. So hopefully I can add to it and try push on even further."
Kealan started his career as a youth team player at Derby County in England, before moving to Hull City. At Hull, he played with the development squad, before graduating to the reserve side. From there he joined St Mirren in the Scottish Premier league. On his time across the water; "I loved my time in England and Scotland and gained a lot of experience that I can take with me now and learn from to help me in my own game and career''
Dillon returned home to Ireland in time for the 2014 season, joining our near neighbours Athlone. Dillon was a consistent performer in the team throughout the season. At the beginning of last season he joined Bohemians, making 21 league appearances for the Phibsboro club.
Having spoken to manager Tony Cousins, Dillon is looking forward to the season ahead. "I met with Tony at the end of the season and was impressed by Tony himself and his vision for the coming season and the future of the club. I'm really looking forward to working under him and can't wait for the season to start and to get back playing.''
We thank Kealan for taking the time out to talk to us, and all at Longford Town Supporters Club wish Kealan all the best in his time with the club.
