Following a minute's silence in memory of Noel Whelan, there was no stop action and no little drama in Eamonn Deacy Park where De Town came from behind to defeat the hosts 2-1.
GOAL...Gary Shaw on right of pic flicks the ball past a diving Galway keeper to level matters just before half time.
The final minutes will live long in the memory of every Town supporter.....shot after shot rained down on the Galway goal....the crosssbar was rattled.. they almost scored in a break away..there was blood (literally), sweat and then, in the 93rd minute, a superbly struck rocket from Don Cowan and the travelling support and team erupted into raptures of unbridled celebrations.......which seconds later resulted in a player from either side seeing red......and finally, finally the sweet sound of the final whistle and cue...more wild celebrations.
The rain fell in Galway but the craic was only mighty!
