What a "floody dramatic" night we had at the City Calling Stadium tonight as we hosted Premier side Bohemians in the quarter finals of the EA League Cup.
Following a torrential downpour, the game was in serious doubt because of a water logged pitch.
But De Town volunteers worked like Trojans and kick off time was put back to allow for a very late pitch inspection by the officials.
Noel Haverty received his Player of the Month award just before a 30 minute delay in the start of the game.
The game itself was no less dramatic with De Town down to nine gallant, battling players, a penalty save and plenty of dashing and splashing. They ran themselves into the soft ground against so called superior opposition.
We may have lost 0-2 but by God, it was some big hearted display by club volunteers, players and supporters, on the pitch , off the pitch and in the stand. C'mon De Town.
