HALF CHANCES, NO POINTS
The attention of a few returned to the domestic game when Finn Harps were the visitors to the City Calling Stadium last Friday night. We had some early half chances from Mark Hughes and Philip Gorman but unfortunately we couldn't convert them to either goals or points. With less than 20 minutes on the clock the visitors went ahead and then doubled their tally in the second half. It was a disappointing result in front of a disappointing crowd which sees us firmly rooted to the wrong end of the table.
ST MEL'S BREWING COMPANY
A huge thank to the local St Mel's Brewing Co who are sponsoring the game against Bohs. Eoin Tynan and Liam Hanlon are the brave men behind the venture and while non multi millionaires yet, full credit is due to them for backing us. Hopefully we'll have a St Mel's or two to celebrate a win soon. The lads have also sponsored Kevin O'Connor and when he scores, he's in line for a crate of the very best of St Mel's craft beer. Thanks again, lads.
DOUBLE PRESENTATION
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Player of the Month award for May had to be held over till this week end. That means that for the first time ever, we'll have a double presentation before the game against Bohs. The May winner is Philip Gannon while the June recipient is Conor Powell. Well done lads.
THOSE SIGNS
A few people have asked where our match day signs have gone. Well, the Council have taken possession of them. Seemingly they were a nuisance. Negotiations have opened and we'll keep you informed of any developments.
BOHS NEXT
This week end, we entertain at home again when we welcome Bohs to the City Calling Stadium. We badly need a good crowd and three points, otherwise our situation could be the same as the name of a famous rock band.
INTERNATIONAL SUPPORTERS
Welcome back to Longford to our merry band of supporters who travelled all over France recently following the Green Army. At least our tricolour waving fans also support De Town and it was really great to see the lads back in the City Calling Stadium before they headed back to Lyon early the following morning.
