SUPPORTERS' CLUB MEETING
There will be an important meeting of the Supporters' Club this Monday night (October 20th) at 8.00pm in the Clubhouse. The season may be over for the players and management but there's a huge amount of work ahead with the Car Boot Sale, the Red and Black Gala Night (December 6th) plus about a million other things. All season, our meetings have been very well attended and have proved to be extremely productive too. See you there, 8 sharp.
CAR BOOT SALE
Our next Car Boot Sale is Monday October 27th at the City Calling Stadium. We always say it kicks off at 10 am but by now, regulars will know that it starts earlier each time. That's simpy because our Car Boot Sales have been so successful. The events have been instrumental in bringing in much needed funds for the club and long may this continue. More help is always welcome and if you can lend a helping hand, get in touch with Liam Healion.
RED AND BLACK GALA NIGHT
Also known as the Dinner Dance, this year's event on December 6th looks like it's going to be a sell out even at the this early date. There are some mouth watering awards to be handed out and the debates about goal of the month, player of the season etc are well and truly under way. Apart from the awards ceremony, it promises to be the sporting social highlight of the year;don't leave it too late to get your ticket(s).
SMUG FEELING
Isn't it just great to be Champions! While Galway and Shels slug it out over two wintry nights in the play offs we can sit back and enjoy a long cosy week-end predicting who will join us next season. What about Galway and Athlone in the top flight with the two Dublin clubs, Shels and UCD being in Division one next year. The smug feeling won't last long but we may as well enjoy it over the winter months ayway.
SO MANY THANKS
It would be absolute madness to attempt to list all those to thank for our wonderful 2014 season. No matter how long the list, someone would be left out. But from Chairman and Manager, the players, backroom squad and stadium personnel, from travelling supporters to supporters who simply can't travel, from Section O to the social media scribblers, from the Civic Receptionists to new song composers, from the tea makers to the tea drinkers, from the stretcher bearers to those who can't bare us.....a huge thank you for the miles of smiles and ultimately the highest highs this season. Happy 90th to us all ! C'mon De Town.
