All EA Sports Cup First Round fixtures including tomorrow's game vs Athlone Town, have been postponed as a mark of respect to the late Derry City captain Ryan McBride, RIP.
The EA SPORTS Cup First Round fixtures were set to be played tomorrow night but will now be rescheduled following the sudden passing of City captain McBride.
Director of Competitions Fran Gavin said:
"Irish football is currently in deep shock at the news of the sudden passing of Derry City captain Ryan McBride.
"As a mark of respect, we've decided to postpone all EA SPORTS Cup fixtures tomorrow evening to give clubs and officials around the country time to grieve his loss.
"We'll announce new dates and times for the fixtures in due course."
We'd like to extend our sympathies to Derry City on the sad passing away of Ryan, and our kindest regards to the club, fans, family and friends.
